1. Choose Difficulty
Select Easy, Medium, or Hard. This controls how many numbers are pre-filled.

2. Choose Mode

Classic: A brand-new random puzzle every time.
Daily: A new puzzle unlocks every day.
You can play today’s and all past days, but future dates are locked.

3. Fill in Numbers
Tap a cell and use the number buttons (1–9).
Use the clear button (⌫) to remove a value.

4. Draft Mode (✏️)
When Draft is ON, you place small pencil-mark candidates instead of committing to a number.

5. Auto-Notes (🔢)
Automatically fills candidate numbers based on what is still possible in each cell.

6. Auto-Check
Highlights conflicts instantly. Turn it off for a more traditional challenge.

7. Undo (↩)
Undo your last move anytime.

⚡ Power Mode (Optional)

Power Mode adds a layer of strategy with optional powerups.
When enabled, you get access to:

Shows the correct number for the selected cell.
Costs points and only works on non-given cells.

• ❌ Clean

Removes an incorrect number without showing the correct one.

• ❄ Freeze Timer (10 seconds)

Pauses the timer briefly when you need a moment to think.

Note: Using Powerups affects your score and is marked as Power Mode on leaderboards.

⭐ Scoring System

Eqsy Sudoku uses a transparent and skill-based scoring system that rewards accuracy, consistency, and speed — while still allowing optional help features for players who want them.

How scoring works

Correct number: +5 points
3 correct moves in a row: +15 combo bonus
Wrong number: −10 points
Check with conflicts: −25 points
Smart Hint: −20 points
Powerups: −20 to −50 points, depending on type
Completion bonus: Based on difficulty level and remaining time

Using help features makes the puzzle easier, but reduces your final score. Scores achieved with powerups are clearly marked as Power Mode on the leaderboard.

Difficulty score adjustment

To ensure fair competition across difficulties, scores are adjusted as follows:

Easy: Base score
Medium: +10% score bonus
Hard: +20% score bonus

Leaderboards always rank players by adjusted score first, then by completion time.
