1. Choose Difficulty

Start by selecting your preferred difficulty:

Easy – More starting numbers and a relaxed experience.
Medium – A balanced challenge.
Hard – Fewer clues and a tougher puzzle.

2. Choose Game Mode

Eqsy Sudoku offers four different ways to play.

Classic

Classic mode provides a modern Sudoku experience with helpful visual guidance.

Paper

Paper mode recreates the feeling of solving Sudoku in a newspaper.

3. Fill in Numbers

Select an empty cell and choose a number from 1–9.

To remove a number, press the Erase button.

The puzzle is complete when every row, column and 3×3 box contains every number exactly once.

4. Draft Mode

Need to think ahead?

Enable Draft Mode to write small candidate numbers inside each cell before making your final decision.

5. Helpful Buttons

Starts a brand-new Sudoku.

Check

Checks the board for mistakes and conflicts.

Hint

Reveals a helpful move if you get stuck.

Undo

Reverses your last move.

Dark Mode

Switch between light and dark themes.

Is Eqsy Sudoku free?

What's the difference between Classic and Paper?

Classic provides helpful visual assistance while you play. Paper removes those aids for a more traditional Sudoku experience.

Can I play with friends?

Yes. Online Duel lets you create Live matches or Async Challenges that you can share using an invitation link or code.

Do we have to play at the same time?

No. Live Duel is simultaneous, while Async Challenges can be completed whenever it suits each player.

Can I play previous Daily Challenges?

Yes. Previous daily puzzles remain available, while future puzzles stay locked.

Does Sudoku work on mobile?

Yes. Eqsy Sudoku works on desktop, tablet and mobile without installing anything.

Can I undo mistakes?

Yes. Use the Undo button to reverse your previous move.

Is Draft Mode the same as pencil marks?

Yes. Draft Mode lets you write temporary candidate numbers inside cells before committing to a final answer.

How do I join an Online Duel?

You can either:

• Open an invitation link
• Enter a duel code manually

Simply enter your player name and join.

Can I send duel links in Messenger or email?
