How to Play Fruit Flow

Fruit Flow uses a clean 9×9 grid. Your goal is to merge identical fruits to create higher-level ones and score points. Each merge produces the next level fruit and opens new opportunities.

🟡 Basic Rules

• Click any fruit.

• Click another fruit of the same level in a:

  • straight line horizontally,

  • vertically, or

  • diagonally

• The path between them must be clear — no fruits, leaves, jars, or bombs blocking.

The second cell becomes the new fruit.
The first becomes empty.

🧩 Board Mechanics

• Fruits drop down automatically.

• When no merges remain, the board settles and refills from the top.

• Game Over happens only if no merges exist AND the top row is full, meaning nothing can drop in.

Obstacles & Special Tiles

Fruit Flow includes several elements that add strategy and depth:

🍃 Leaves (Blockers)

• Leaves have HP (hit points).

• Each merge adjacent to a leaf reduces its HP.

• When HP reaches 0, the tile clears and becomes playable.

🫙 Glass Jars (Locked Tiles)

• Locks a vertical 2-cell section.

• You must create the target fruit shown on the jar.

• Each target fruit reduces jar HP.

• When HP reaches 0, the jar breaks and unlocks the column.

💣 Bombs (Explosive Tiles)

• Bombs drop during certain refill cycles.

• If you merge next to a bomb, it explodes and clears a 3×3 area around it.

• Bombs can break jars and remove blockers.

• Perfect for resetting stuck sections.

Refill Cycle

When the board refills, it follows a repeating pattern:

1. First refill: fruits only

2. Second refill: jars may appear

3. Third refill: bombs may appear

Then the cycle repeats, increasing difficulty over time.

Scoring System

Your score increases when you merge fruits. Higher-level fruits yield higher points.

Bonus points:

• creating the active target fruit,

• clearing blockers,

• performing chain reactions after explosions.

Moves are tracked for leaderboard submissions.

Game Modes

🌍 Global Mode

A completely random board each time you start a game.

📅 Daily Mode

The board is generated from the current date.
Everyone playing today sees the exact same layout.

Daily mode is ideal for:

• competing fairly with friends

• leaderboard challenges

• personal improvement

Leaderboards

Fruit Flow features two leaderboard types:

🏆 Global Leaderboard

Shows top scores across all players.

📅 Daily Challenge Leaderboard

Ranks scores for today’s Daily seed.

Leaderboards update automatically and support both local (browser) storage and optional server-sync.
