  • Estimated equity from outs

  • A suggested Call / Fold decision

This helps you understand whether calling is mathematically profitable.

What are pot odds in poker?

Pot odds compare the amount you must call with the total pot you can win.

The formula is:

Call amount ÷ Total pot after calling

If your equity is higher than the break-even percentage, calling is profitable over time.

Break-even equity is the minimum percentage chance you need to win in order for a call to be profitable.

For example: If your break-even equity is 25%, you must win at least one out of four times for the call to be correct.

Outs represent the number of cards that improve your hand.

Examples:

  • Flush draw = 9 outs

  • Open-ended straight draw = 8 outs

  • Gutshot straight draw = 4 outs

The calculator uses quick probability approximations to estimate your equity based on these outs.

Yes. The pot odds calculation itself is exact.

The outs-based equity estimate uses standard poker approximations:

  • Rule of 4 for flop draws

  • Rule of 2 for turn draws

These provide quick and reliable estimates during gameplay analysis.

About the Pot Odds Calculator

The Pot Odds Calculator helps poker players quickly determine whether calling a bet is mathematically profitable in Texas Hold’em.

By comparing the amount you must call with the total pot you can win, the calculator shows the break-even equity required to make a profitable decision. This makes it easier to analyze real poker hands and understand the mathematics behind drawing odds.

The built-in outs helper can also estimate your equity when you are drawing to a stronger hand, such as a flush draw or straight draw.
