  • d6 (cube): classic board-game die with pips.

  • d8 (octahedron): eight faces, common in RPGs.

  • d12 (dodecahedron): twelve faces.

  • d20 (icosahedron): twenty faces; standard in many tabletop RPG systems.

Is the result fair/random?
The roller uses the browser’s random generator. When available, it calls window.crypto.getRandomValues to produce unbiased rolls; otherwise it falls back to Math.random. Each face has an equal chance of appearing across many rolls. Real, physical dice can vary due to balance or wear.

Q1: Can I roll more than one die?

Yes, you can roll up to 10 dice at once.

Yes, every roll is completely random, just like a real dice throw.

Yes, it works on any device without downloads or apps.

d6 uses classic pips (1–6) for familiarity. d4, d8, d10, d12, and d20 display numeric faces for clarity.

Make sure your device isn’t muted and your browser allows sound/autoplay. Then roll again.

About the Dice Roller

The free online Dice Roller is a fast, lightweight tool that simulates rolling physical dice in your browser. Instead of looking for real dice, you can roll directly on your screen — anytime, anywhere, on desktop or mobile. Choose the die you need (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, or d20), set how many to roll (1–10), and see both the individual results and the total sum. A short roll sound plays to give the roll a satisfying “tabletop” feel.

How it works

Each roll is generated in your browser using a high-quality random number generator. When available, the tool calls the secure window.crypto.getRandomValues API to create unbiased outcomes. If that API isn’t supported, it falls back to Math.random. Over many rolls, every face of the die has an equal chance of appearing. In other words, the tool is designed to mimic the fairness of a well-balanced physical die.

Why trust the results?

Physical dice can be imperfect: tiny manufacturing differences, rounded edges, or surface wear can nudge rolls toward certain faces. Software rolls don’t suffer from those physical biases. Using a strong RNG helps ensure consistent randomness across sessions and devices. For most tabletop games, teaching activities, and casual use, this level of randomness is more than sufficient.

Designed for real use

  • Instant results: roll one or multiple dice and get the total immediately.

  • Keyboard shortcut: press R to roll again — great for quick repeat rolls.

  • Clear visuals: d6 shows classic pips (dots), other dice show numbers.

  • Mobile-friendly: big targets, smooth performance, small page weight.

  • No account or setup: just open the page and roll.

Who is it for?

  • Board gamers who forgot or lost their dice.

  • RPG groups (Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder, Warhammer, etc.).

  • Classrooms and workshops that need fair, quick random outcomes.

  • Casual fun when you simply want to roll a few dice.

Every roll is completely random, giving you the same fairness you expect from a real die — without the hassle of carrying a dice bag.
