How to Use the Scientific Calculator

Our free online scientific calculator lets you perform both simple and advanced math operations.
Here’s how to get the most out of it:

  1. Basic calculations
Type numbers and use the function buttons just like on a normal calculator.
    Example: enter 25 + 12 * 3 → result is 61.

  2. Trigonometric functions
Switch between Degrees and Radians using the toggle above the display.
Example: sin(45) in Degrees gives 0.7071.
In Radians, the same expression becomes sin(π/4) and gives the same result.

  3. Powers and roots
Use ^ for exponents and for roots.
    Example: 3^4 = 81, and √(81) = 9.

  4. Logarithms and constants
You can use log() for base-10 and ln() for natural log.
Constants like π and e are built in.
    Example: ln(e) = 1.

  5. Graph mode – visualize your math
Check the box labeled Graph mode, then enter an expression containing x.
👉 Type the letter “x” directly from your keyboard – there’s no button for it.
    Example expressions you can try:

    • x^2 + 2x + 1 → shows a smooth parabola.

    • sin(x) → displays a wave pattern between −1 and 1.

    • cos(x) * x → produces a damped oscillation curve.
The graph automatically updates for x-values between −10 and 10.

Tip: You don’t need to write the multiplication symbol between numbers and x. Writing 2x is enough (the calculator understands it as 2*x).

  6. Instant explanations
The line below the display shows how the calculator interprets your input, e.g.
    sin(45°) = 0.7071.

  7. History and memory
Every result appears in the History panel. Click any item to reuse it.
Use the Memory section to save a named value, such as tax or k1, and recall it later in new expressions.

  8. Export your work
Use Export Excel or Export PDF to save your full history for reference or reports.

Can I use it for trigonometric calculations?

Yes — simply switch between Degrees and Radians depending on your angle input.

Exactly. The layout and functions are designed to feel familiar but with modern improvements.

Yes. Turn on Graph Mode and enter an expression with x (like sin(x) or x^2) to see it plotted instantly.

No. Everything happens locally in your browser. The history is temporary and cleared when you leave the page.

Make sure your device isn’t muted and your browser allows sound/autoplay. Then roll again.
