🔍 How to Play

1. Choose Difficulty

Select Easy, Medium, or Hard.

Difficulty controls how many numbers are pre-filled and affects your score multiplier:

Easy – More starting numbers and simpler puzzles
Medium – Balanced challenge
Hard – Fewer starting numbers and more advanced solving

2. Choose Game Mode

Eqsy Sudoku offers multiple ways to play:

Classic Mode

Play a brand-new random puzzle every time.

Daily Challenge

A new puzzle becomes available each day.

Everyone receives the same puzzle
Compete on the Daily leaderboard
Play today’s puzzle or any previous date
Future dates remain locked

Online Duel

Challenge friends and compete on identical puzzles.

Two duel types are available:

Live Duel

Both players solve the puzzle simultaneously
Live progress updates during the match

Async Challenge

Players do not need to play simultaneously.

Create and share an invite link
Both players receive the same puzzle
Complete the challenge whenever it suits you
Challenges automatically expire after 24 hours if not completed

Create a room, copy the invite link, and share it through Messenger, email, Discord, WhatsApp, SMS, or any other platform.

3. Fill in Numbers

Tap or click a cell and select numbers 1–9.

Use the clear button (⌫) to remove a value.

The number bar uses smart locking, meaning completed numbers automatically become visually disabled.

4. Draft Mode (✏️)

Draft Mode lets you place small pencil-mark candidates instead of entering a final answer.

Useful for harder puzzles and advanced solving strategies.

5. Auto-Notes (🔢)

Auto-Notes automatically fills candidate numbers based on remaining possible values.

This helps speed up solving and reduce mistakes.

6. Auto-Check

Auto-Check highlights conflicts instantly while you play.

Turn it OFF if you prefer a more traditional Sudoku experience.

7. Hints & Undo

Undo (↩) lets you reverse your last move at any time.

Hints can help when you’re stuck, but using help features reduces your score.

⚡ Power Mode (Optional)

Power Mode adds optional abilities and strategic gameplay elements.

When enabled you gain access to:

Shows the correct value for the selected cell.

Costs points
Only works on non-given cells

❌ Clean

Removes an incorrect value without revealing the answer.

❄ Freeze Timer

Pauses the timer briefly so you can think without pressure.

Note: Powerups affect your final score and results are marked as Power Mode on leaderboards.

⭐ Scoring System

Eqsy Sudoku rewards accuracy, speed, and consistency.

How scoring works

Correct number: +5 points
Three correct moves in a row: +15 combo bonus
Wrong number: −10 points
Conflicts detected: −25 points
Hint used: −20 points
Powerups: −20 to −50 points
Completion bonus based on:
- Difficulty
- Remaining time
- Performance

Flow bonuses and visual score effects reward good streaks during gameplay.

Using assistance features makes puzzles easier but lowers your final score.

Difficulty score adjustment

To keep competition fair:

Easy: Base score
Medium: +10% score bonus
Hard: +20% score bonus

Leaderboards rank players by:

Daily puzzles are the same for all players on the same date, so you can compare your score and time on the Daily Leaderboard.

Do I lose points for using help features?

Yes. Hints, Check, and Powerups all reduce points to keep the leaderboard fair.

Does Power Mode count on the leaderboard?

Yes, but your score will be labeled as Power Mode.

What does Zen Mode do?

Zen Mode disables scoring, time tracking, and leaderboard saving — ideal for relaxing play.

Can I play Sudoku with friends?

Yes. Eqsy Sudoku includes Online Duel mode where you can challenge another player using invitation links or match codes.

Do we need to play at the same time?

No.

Async Challenges allow both players to finish later.

Live Rooms are for real-time play.

How do I join an Online Duel?

You can either:

Where are online scores stored?

🧠 Sudoku Solving Techniques (Beginner to Intermediate)

Want to solve Sudoku faster and without guessing? Use these proven techniques:

1. Scan for Missing Numbers

Look at each row, column, and 3×3 box.

Find which numbers (1–9) are missing and where they can go.

2. Single Candidate (Naked Single)

If a cell can only contain one possible number, place it immediately.

This is the most basic and important Sudoku technique.

3. Hidden Single

Sometimes a number can only fit in one position within a row, column, or box — even if it is not obvious at first glance.

4. Elimination Method

Check related rows, columns, and boxes to remove impossible values.

What remains is usually the correct answer.

5. Work One Number at a Time

Choose a number (for example 5) and scan the entire grid to identify all possible placements.

6. Use Notes (Pencil Marks)

Write down candidate numbers in cells.

This helps reveal patterns and reduces mistakes.

7. Avoid Guessing
